Set on the turquoise shore of Culebra, the painting honors their quiet circle of connection: each child absorbed in their own world, yet bound together by family and the sea.

I was commissioned to paint this Japanese maple for the homeowners' entry courtyard—a tree that greets them and their guests as they arrive. It is visible through the expansive front windows, offering a focal point across the seasons. In autumn, its leaves blaze with bright reds and are kissed by hints of orange and pink as the light moves across the scene. Through layered color and soft edges, I aimed to honor the tree's beauty and vibrant color, inviting a moment of pause to savor the seasonal rhythm.
